The initial meeting of the Alumni Advisory Committee to the Campus Store was held on Tuesday June 28 at 11 AM in Marcus Foster Hall. The purpose of the meeting and the committee’s charge is to be the liaison and advisory arm linking alums from the various decades with the campus store management, planning appropriate inventory and retail items, and promoting Cheyney alumni and Greek Letter Organization paraphernalia and materials. The inaugural meeting consisted of alums representing the fifties, sixties, seventies, eighties and two thousand.

Numerous issues were discussed.  Susan Stuart, acting store manager, was helpful informing alums about the store’s recent history, buying philosophy, current inventory and she ask for input from alums as the store moves forward. In turn, alums shared their concerns and offered suggestions on merchandise, styles, man power and retailing options. The process will be ongoing, the next meeting will be in mid-July, pending  response from the administration to several initial questions and concerns posed by the committee.
