Bishop Bernard S. Wallace is a life long resident of Beaver County, currently residing in Monaca, PA (Center Township). A third generation son of the Church of God In Christ, he is a man of many and varied offices. His primary role is that of Administrative Assistant to Bishop Melvin E. Clark, Sr., pastor of the Church In The Round (COGIC), Aliquippa, PA. In August, 1973, he was ordained Elder in the gospel ministry and November, 1986 appointed Executive Jurisdictional Secretary and Superintendent of the Headquarters District of the Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of PA. Mostly recently he was appointed to the National Financial Oversight Board, Church of God In Christ, Inc.

His earliest assignment in 1973 was that of Financial Secretary, followed in succession by member of the Board of Trustees and Board of Elders; Director of Church Publications; Director of Christian Education; Program Coordinator of the church’s Family Life Center, Inc.; Production Manager of the famed “Across The Pastor’s Desk” Radio Ministry; Coordinator of the “Commit To Christ” Crusades of the 1970’s and the “May I Present Jesus To You” Holy Ghost Conferences and former Chairman of the Kingdom Men’s Fellowship of the Church In The Round.

Bishop Wallace has distinguished himself as an educator and a community activist. He is a graduate of the Aliquippa High School and completed his understudy at Cheyney State University of Pennsylvania receiving the Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education, majoring in Social Science (1962). He also degreed and is certified in Special Education for the Gifted and the Educable Mentally Challenged. His postgraduate studies included Penn State University, Geneva College and the Billy Graham School of Evangelism. As a former educator in the Aliquippa School District for nine years he established the Secondary Special Education Curriculum and Work Experience Program. Since resigning from the school system he has given over 43 years work to full-time work at the Church In The Round.

He served with many local and county boards. Some of his board affiliations are Board Chairman of the Drug and Alcohol of Beaver County; Vice President of the Beaver County Minority Coalition; Lifesteps of Butler and Beaver County; Beaver County Special Commission; Western Pennsylvania Labor Agency; Prevention Project; Liaison Board Member of the Beaver County Housing Authority; NAACP.

He celebrated 50 years of marriage to the beautiful Gladys Evans Wallace of Aliquippa and is the proud father of a son, John, and daughter, Quandra Haley, and grandfather of five.
