Christian Allyn Carter, Sr. is a seventh generation Washingtonian and direct descendant of slave abolitionist, real estate developer, civil war soldier, teamster, and cemetery owner, Jacob Moore. Christian is also an original member of one of Washington’s oldest families, the Addison family.
A proud member of the Cheyney University family, Christian believes as Frederick Douglas believed, “Without a struggle, there can be no progress.”
During his time at Cheyney, Carter developed a keen sense of community involvement and civic engagement and founded an organization called For Students By Students (FSBS), which created jobs and outreach opportunities to students. During his undergraduate career, Carter was elected by the Executive Staff to represent the University on the Strategic Planning Board, where he helped structure the university’s 30-Year Development Plan.
Christian Carter, Sr. is currently running for the Office of Mayor in Washington, D.C. because he believes we are in need of a transparent, honest, and equitable government that restores Washington’s confidence, regains dignity, and re-establishes public trust in political leadership that serves all of its citizens.
