The Legacy Brunch is the closing activity of homecoming and provides the opportunity for alumni and others to celebrate the Legacy Family (a family that has a significant number of Cheyney alumni).  This year’s Legacy Family is the Beatty Family from Philadelphia with eleven (11) alumni.  Additionally, a Legacy Award is being presented to Mrs. Ardean (Miss Dee) DeVaughn former manager of the Cheyney Snack Bar who will turn 100 in January.  Most alumni have very fond memories of Miss Dee and will be glad to see her.

Dr. Michelle R. Howard-Vital will greet alumni and share in the presentation of the Legacy Awards with Dr. Sandra Countley, President, Cheyney University National Alumni Association.  The program also features a memorial service for alum that have passed since last year’s homecoming, a performance by the Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Gospel Quarter and a solo by Alicia Beatty.

Admission to the Legacy Brunch is free, however, advance registration is required. Please call the Office of Alumni Relations at 610-399-2419 or
