The successful two days of activities included the Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Reception on Friday evening in Dudley and Carnegie Halls, the CUNAA general membership meeting on Saturday followed by a thoroughly enjoyable All Class Reunion Luncheon andan Alumni-Student basketball game. The weekend was capped by a fight night party in Delaware where young alums watched the Floyd Mayweather- Miguel Cotto fight.

Cheyney University president Dr. Michelle Howard-Vital addressed alums during the morning general meeting. She shared ideas and asked for alumni input as Cheyney reinvents itself for the twenty-first century. The exchanges and feedback were positive and opened the door for future partnership opportunities.

The 2012 Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame inductees were: Daryl Henderson, Paul Turner, Barbara Daniel Cox, Thomas Lane IV, Father Thomas Logan and his wife Hermione Logan (daughter of Leslie Pinckney Hill) and Dr. Ann Waiters.

Appreciation awards were presented during the All Class Reunion luncheon by the CUNAA Past President’s council for: chapter of the year, alumni of the year,

the James Duckrey Service Award and the Harvey N. Schmidt Award. North Carolina and the Delaware State chapters were chosen as chapters of the year for their outstanding work and programs. Ozzie Hackett, president of the North Carolina chapter, was selected Alum of the Year, Clarence Williams, president of the Delaware Chapter, was the recipient of the James Duckrey Service Award and Michael Carroll was recipient of the Harvey N. Schmidt Award.

The Alumni Day Committee: Pearl Anderson- Cameron chair, Iesha Davis, Calishe Gully-Foy and Camille Gadsen are to be congratulated on a fine job of integrating old and young in a fun filled weekend celebrating Cheyney University.
